Who we are
The Air Rescue Museum is a corporation formed under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Service code.
We have incorporated to facilitate funding our activities in educating the public regarding the history of, and contributions to our nation and the world by, the United States Air Force Air Rescue Service.
Our objectives and our activities focus in two main areas:
- Collection, restoration, and exhibition of aircraft, equipment, and other items of interest associated with the USAF Air Rescue Service.
- Collection of motion picture material, usually after conversion to DVD or VHS media, for distribution of copies to the public.
When our aircraft, a former USAF Air Rescue SA-16B/HU-16B becomes airworthy we intend to offer a traveling museum exhibit, appearing at as many airshows during the airshow season as our schedule will allow.
The anticipated completion date, subject to finances and subject to change is projected to be sometime in 2009. We will publish our event schedule at that time.
Meanwhile please browse our website and enjoy what we have to offer online, including our HISTORY page and shop our STORE for DVD's and other items we have available for sale.
